t’s the bewitching hour, or just a tad before, as the town’s last-minute shoppers grumpily go about their late, late business, and the shop owners get ready to finally hang up their aprons.
We’ve done this Christmas Eve walk quite a few times, just going from the harbour to the station, from Christmas tree to Christmas tree.
What we like about it is that it’s no big drama, no big Ladies Night or Christmas Lights event, just Greystonians getting ready for some drinks, a dirty big dinner, and, if they’re lucky, catching up with some old friends.
Or, if they’re unlucky, catching up with some old relatives.
So, not quite It’s A Wonderful Life on the video below, but it is Greystones, at Christmas, in 2019.
And there are plenty of people out there who would kill a relative or two for that treat…
Catch up on Christmas in Greystones here, and check out what New Year’s Eve has to offer here. Cover pic by the bould Sheena Griffin.
