or years in his native Kuşadasi in sunny Turkey, Nico Tezgin was embedded in Irish culture.

Finding properties for every Tomás, Dearbhla and Paddy meant that the young Nico got to know Ireland and its people almost more than his own native folk.

And it didn’t take long before he fell in love with the place.

“Add to that the Celtic Tiger boom, and how could I resist?” he smiles today outside his Eternity Jewellery on Greystones’ main drag. “I came to Ireland for the first time in 1999, and just travelled around, seeing all the sights I’d heard so much about. And when a friend recommended a shop space opening up in Greystones, in the Meridian Point, well, I jumped at the chance to become part of the community here…”

Something Nico has proudly done over the past two decades, with Eternity Jewellery the proud sponsors of pretty much all of the town’s sports teams through the years, as well as local charities, churches, community centres and beyond. “I’m so very, very lucky to have a shop in this town,” says Nico, “with so many wonderful people coming through our door, I just try and give something back, always. It’s what community is all about…”

“Like everyone else in Greystones, I can’t wait for our doors to be wide open once again,” says Nico. “We’re busy even now, thankfully, but there’s nothing quite like that one-on-one experience.

“Especially when you’re helping someone mark a major moment in their life. Being part of that is an incredible feeling…”
