t’s the perfect opportunity to say goodbye to another year, and to
remember not only the days gone by but those we have lost along the way.
It’s also the perfect opportunity, of course, to have a big feed, a tipple or two, and share stories, songs and gossip that will warm the cockles of your heart.
And, if your luck is blowing in the right direction, the heart of your cockles, of course.
Yep, the annual Greystones Cancer Support Christmas nosh-up is a tonic for not only the troop at the core of this 30-year-old local support group but for all those who have come to know, love and rely upon them as they battled The Big C.
Laughter certainly seems to be a big part of the GCC arsenal, and there was much joy in evidence over at The Glenview Hotel this weekend.
Despite the fact that Frances Browner almost broke out a poem at one point.
The man capturing it all was, as always, John McGowan, who spent pretty much every waking hour over the past weekend charting a few very busy days in the life of Greystones.
In truth, the man has charted a very busy decade in the life of Greystones, and his photographs are now a big part of our town’s history. So, respect! Ya fecks.
