Proof positive that prison courses are a good idea, the Greystones Art Group launched their 54th annual exhibition last night.
And, as you can see, there were plenty of smiley, happy people there.
We’re not sure though if that was because they got to view works by the likes of Anne McWilliams, B Mathews, Susan Holmes and Goretti Murphy for free, or it was the fact that the free wine was flowing. Answers on the back of a soggy beer mat to the usual address.
What we do know is that young Murphy kindlydonated the painting entitled Waiting for a raffle in aid of the Gavin Glynn Foundation.
Young John McGowan attended the opening last night, the exhibition running until Sunday 7th at 5pm. On the Saturday, there will be a live painting demonstration at 3pm by Joyce Oldum, an artist and instructor flying in from, eh, Wicklow.
