Following a commitment from the Taoiseach last month that diggers would be on site within a month’s time the Taoiseach Simon Harris can confirm builders will be on site this Monday to begin construction of the long-awaited Greystones Community College school building.
This is fantastic news for all in families in the area who have campaigned tirelessly to get this project over the line.
The permanent building project for Greystones Community College will deliver a new 1,000 pupil post-primary school with accommodation, including 4 classrooms, for children with special educational needs. The project is being delivered under the Department’s Design & Build programme.
Speaking today, Taoiseach Simon Harris said: “Today is a major step forward and fantastic news for thousands of families across the Greystones area.
“I am absolutely thrilled to confirm that Greystones Community College’s long awaited new school build will soon go to construction this coming Monday.
“Parents and staff have fought hard for this project to go ahead and we are all as a community delighted to see digger and builders come on site
to start delivering for Greystones.
“This project has been a top priority for me since day one and as a Greystones resident I am overwhelmed with joy with the confirmation of the start of construction.
