Greystones Girls U16s’ Glorious Win

There’ll be much hootin- and a-hollerin’ at Greystones Rugby Club today, as the Girls U16s return triumphant.

Described as ‘a fantastic win’ on the Greystones Rugby Club’s Facebook page, there’s, eh, no other information available.

No scoreline. No opposition team. No players’ names. Nada.

Still, hooray for Greystones Rugby Club’s U16s Girls, for what we imagine was a sterling display of skill, determination and inspiring teamwork. Despite the presence of the young Leonard lass.

We did notice that the person looking after the GRFC Facebook page loves their hashtags, and therein may lie some clues as to what actually went down today.

So, take your pick from #grfcloveswomensrugby, #coygig, #bringit and #homegrowntalent. There’s also the slightly more revealing tag @northmeathRFC, which is either the team they were playing against, or the pitch they were playing on.

When it appears in The Bray People next Wednesday, we’ll let you know the ins and outs, and tries, of the day.

In the meantime, hurrah!

Update! Groovy GG reader – and proud parent – Lorraine O’Connor got in touch. The opposition was indeed North Meath, and Greystones hammered them 47-21. Sweet!
