Greystones Hit By More Gemma Rays

ruth be told, we gave up on reporting about Gemma O’Doherty’s endless, aimless conspiracy theories and failed court cases a while back.

As we thought it was more important on actual truth being told in this increasingly bonkers world where a hate-filled man like Alex Jones can become a multi-millionaire by playing a Chicken Little messiah to Travis Bickle muppets.

But Ireland’s very own Alexa Jones seems to have a strange attraction to Greystones, using the town and its surrounds to stick her oar – and her flag – in again agus again.

It happened with her infamous – and, let’s be honest, incredibly funny – anti-vaccine protest on the Kilmacanogue flyover in August 2020. It happened in August 2019, when she marched outside St Brigid’s National School to warn them that allowing gender neutral uniforms would trigger the end of the world, taking the time out that day to talk with Father Jerry Young about how the Tuam baby scandal was all a hoax.

By the time O’Doherty parked her big LED trailer opposite Shoreline on May 22nd, 2021, we had all but given up on following her misguided misadventures to save old Ireland from modern Ireland.

But then, someone drew our attention to O’Doherty’s free sheet The Irish Light being pushed through letterboxes around Greystones, and alongside some handy tips on how to be extremely antisemitic there’s an attack on local lad Ronan Lupton. Mainly because this complete and utter barrister has the audacity to defend Veronica Guerin’s brother, Jimmy, in a long-running defamation case against O’Doherty.

O’Doherty also pulled out the lights for Christmas last month too, parking a car along Greystones seafront over the silly season with a LED sign denouncing Lupton.

It’s the kind of move that has seen O’Doherty being brought to court on a fairly regular basis, but such cases can take years. They also cost quite a bit of money, and sanity.

All of which leads us to ask, is there any way on God’s green earth that Greystones can get a restraining order against this woman?
