As our weather gets increasingly weirder, and crueler, to see all your possessions, your house, your home, washed away in a flood is the dread of all parents.
And now a Greystones mother has suffered just such a fate. Living in Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire, Allison Vaughan and her partner, Lee Dunne, along with their two young children, Finn and Seb, have been badly hit by the recent floods. So much so, they’re homeless, after their groundfloor apartment – which they were about to sell, so they could move to a new home – was devastated by the rising waters.
Greystones Guide reader Clare Kilmartin explains where you, the good people of Greystones, come in…
“A local girl really needs some help and her friends have set her up a fundraising page. Please take a minute to have a look and read their story and if you could help at all that would be so appreciated.”
