Temple Carrig School was proud to host a special Women’s Day Round Table Discussion today at 2pm.

This engaging event brought together an exceptional panel of women leaders to inspire and empower students, parents, and the wider school community.

The discussion was informal yet impactful, offering insights from accomplished professionals across diverse fields. We also used the event to launch our alumni women’s network so as to continue the impact of these conversations.

Our panelists included:
⦿ Jennifer Whitmore TD – Established political leader
⦿ Margret Attridge – Head of Uisce Éireann
⦿ Deborah Crean – Principal, Temple Carrig School
⦿ Rachel Harper – Principal, St. Patrick’s, Founder of It Takes a Village
⦿ Deirble Ivory – Women in Sport Advocate for Cycling Ireland
⦿ Evelyn McNelis – Multi-medalist athlete and recent world record holder in the 4x800m Over-70s Relay

We were also delighted to welcome three distinguished alumni of Temple Carrig School:
⦿ Chloe Leonard and Laura Stewart (Class of 2020) – Masters students in Biomedical Engineering at UCD, passionate about medical technology and advocating for women in STEM
⦿ Hannah Boden (Class of 2024) – Criminology and Psychology student, youth advocate for Jigsaw, yoga and mindfulness teacher, podcast host on women’s confidence, safety, and mental health

In addition, the discussion featured current students representing our school community:
⦿ Sophie Lumley – 6th Year, Head Girl
⦿ Sasha Sweeney – 5th Year, Politics student
⦿ Ceoladh Fenelon – 5th Year, Jigsaw Mental Health Youth Advocate

We are also honoured to welcome three student leaders from St. David’s Secondary School:
⦿ Aoife Ryan – Head Girl
⦿ Grace-Anne Hassett and Freya Duffy – Deputy Head Girls

This event provided a unique opportunity for senior cycle students and parents to engage with inspiring women leaders, fostering discussions around leadership, education, sports, mental health, and gender equality.
