Halfway Crowned Bookshop Of The Year

ard to believe it’s just four years ago that we welcomed Halfway Up The Stairs into Greystones.

The little children’s bookshop that was a lifetime’s dream come true for Trish Hennessy, this is one little adventure that keeps on giving.

And now, adding to its ever-growing list of awards, Halfway has been named Bookshop Of The Year in the An Post Irish Book Awards.

And just to add some cherries on top, local authors Peter Donnelly and Sarah Webb also picked up gongs – the latter also working at Halfway when not writing award-winning books.

Donnelly won Children’s Book Of The Year in the Junior section for The President’s Dog whilst Ms Webb joined Lucinda Jacob and illustrator Ashwin Chacko in the Senior win for Children’s Book Of The Year with I Am The Wind: Irish Poems For Children Everywhere.
