Halfway Wins Independent Bookshop Of The Year

Another day, another bouquet…

he bould Trish down at Halfway Up The Stairs has a habit of getting nods and gongs from Ireland’s book world.

Then again, this little Greystones shop is clearly something special.

Quite possibly for adults just as much as kids.

And now they’ve only gone and won this year’s Independent Book Shop Of The Year for the lovely island of Ireland.

“We are so proud of this achievement,” says Trish. “There are so many wonderful indie bookshops in Ireland, especially our fellow nominee, Little Acorn Books in Derry.

“It’s a real honour to receive this accolade, especially as a dedicated children’s bookshop.”

Still reeling from today’s win, Trish was quick to heap praise on the Halfway team, including “Amanda, Meriel, Kathleen and our events manager, Sarah.

“We work hard to get the best books into children’s hands and we are lucky that there are so many wonderful children’s books out there!”
