Not only is he funny, generous (lots of charity work, of course), kind (works with children, of course) and married to an incredibly hot woman, but he also runs what is, for GG, the greatest night out of any month around these parts.
We’re talking about, of course, The Hardy Har Comedy Club, a monthly free night of stand-up at the very, very wonderfulHarbour Bar.
Running generally on the third Thursday of each month, Adam is not only the MC but the host, booker and chief heckler wrangler, putting together a show of four or five guest comedians that would put most major London comedy stores to shame.
And that’s because not only does Adam know where the real stand-up gold is, but also because, well, we Irish are a whole carload of clowns funnier than those lame-ass limeys. Fact.
Some of our finest comedians have graced the Hardy Har stage, including Al Porter, Pat McDonnell, John Colleary, Michael Redmond, Tommy Nicholson, Jack Wise and Aidan Bishop.
Actually, strike that last one. He’s shit on a stick. Without the stick.
So, if you’re looking for a different kind of night out that won’t cost the earth – it’s free, baby – but might just warp your tiny mind into a few new ways to see the world and our everyday problems, get along to the Hardy Har Comedy Club. Now.
Well, when we say ‘Now’, we do, of course, mean the next third Thursday of the month. You can find out more by checking out the Hardy Har Comedy Club’s Facebook page here.
In the meantime, you can find out what makes Adam Burke tick here, and what makes him thick here. You can find out more about The Harbour Bar here.
