ne of the first people we interviewed for our long-running My Greystones series, Harry Acheson was instantly one of our favourites.

And not just for his amazing shots of Greystones in the 1970s and ’80s.

Swinging up to his Coolagad pad, the man was full of life, laughter and naughty, nautical stories.

Which is just what we love here at GG.

A man we had always planned to revisit, to get another bout of local history and another jolt of feelgood, sadly, Harry is now no longer with us.

Love and thoughts are with Yvonne and their children Gary and Keith, and all who were lucky enough to know and to love the man…

Henry William (Harry) Acheson of Coolagad, Redford, Greystones, Co. Wicklow, died peacefully at home, in his 92nd year, on Tuesday 7th June 2022. Beloved husband of Yvonne, much loved father of Gary and Keith, father-in-law of Daphne and Karen and adoring Grandad of Hunter, Ivan and Rory.

He will be sadly missed by his family, nieces, nephews, extended family and wide circle of friends.

Funeral Service on Friday (June 10) at 11.30am in St. Patrick’s Church, Church Road, Greystones, followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to R.N.L.I. or the Donkey Sanctuary. Enquiries to Colliers Funeral Directors on 012720777.
