It’ll be lonely…

aybe it’s the incessant rain, or the looming recession, or Covid kicking ass once again, but it’s beginning to feel a lot like January out there.

Where the frick is that Christmas spirit…?

Taking a walk around Greystones today and, sure, people are busy getting last-minute presents, and some are even going for a festive pint, but there was a distinct lack of Yuletide magic in the air.

It might just be a struggle for Santa’s sleigh to get off the ground this year.

Then again, maybe we was just looking in all the wrong places. The places without wide-eyed kids. Either way, now is as good a time as any to remember just how lucky we are to live around here. And that we should be thankful. Maybe even a little happy.

And in your time of troubles, you should always ask yourself, What would Elvis do? Right now, The Artist Formerly Known As Alan Adamson is in hospital, his second stay this month, as he literally tries to catch his breath. And yet, talk to the man, and he’s full of joy, full of schemes and dreams, always thinking about tomorrow. And what treats may lay in store.

So, let’s join him, and appreciate the here and now, and look forward to tomorrow. And the day after.
