You might as well…
o, when was the last time kids dived off The Men’s like this…?
We’re guessing it’s at least 2 Â years,
probably more.
And the big question is, after ferocious waves unearthed the old beauty overnight in November 2016, only for the little bugger to disappear again, and then reappear, how long will this Greystones’ landmark stay like this?

14JULY17
Well, as it turns out, about a week. The above pic was taken on July 8th, 2017. The pic to the left was taken on July 14th, 2017.
When we began charting the rise and fall, and rise again, of The Men’s about a year ago, our hope was always that it would one day be fit for purpose once again.
Even if that purpose was for young couples to just sit on the diving board wall forever and ever.

So, on that balmy July Saturday, the 8th, it was good to have the old girl back, those crooked old steps and that inviting ramp looking every bit as rugged, ragged and beautiful as ever.

We caught this glorious day in a series of shots, which you can peruse right about here.
And we appreciated that return to glory all the more given that it was gone again a few days later.
Perhaps we can get a diving board connected here? One that stretches
out about 40 yards.
Just in case, you know, it all slips back under the sand once again.
This might just be the place to pop that planned pontoon, if the water remains. In the meantime, if you’re anywhere close, go relive a childhood thrill.
Just make sure to bring a hot whiskey with you this time…
Below, there’s a series of shots, starting with that November 2016 return, then, later, the retreat, and then, hey, the return, plus, some early historical shots…
By mid-December 2016, we were back to this…
And then, by January 5th, 2017, peek-a-boo once more…
Â
And by January 17th, you could just about manage a run and leap into the water. If you started that run at St David’s…
But, hey, by Jan 28th 2017, The Men’s had gone full emu once again…
And by March 2017, almost completely buried once again…
But, hey, May 2017 brings this…
Back in July 2016, we were almost there…

The Men’s Post-Terence
In June 2016, the warning signs were beginning to look a tad ridiculous…
July 2017…
Â
September 2017…
Feb 2018…
Â
And March 2018, after Storm Emma…
And by the end of March 2018, the gums were showing…
Now, let’s jump back even further…Â

Anything to do with the development at harbour ????. Loss of material at the old dump is accumulating at diving board. Just follow the brown slick flowing out to sea.
