Bellevue Hill Roadworks Go The Extra Mile

he pothole situation around here got to a point lately where we started to believe that Wicklow County Council might be trialing a new braille initiative for blind drivers.

Or perhaps they were just hoping to twin Greystones with Crater Manchester…? Or struck oil…?

Either way, local mechanics and tyre specialists will be gutted to learn that one of the most offending stretches, Bellevue Hill, is about to undergo some long-overdue road resurfacing works.

And now, those works have extended beyond the original Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th to, hey, the Friday, with one worker there telling GG that they will “definitely, definitely” be done by close of day.

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of roadworks and the temporary closure of the following public road: L1030 – Bellevue Hill, Delgany

⦿ Wednesday 18th February 2026
Traffic Management: Stop/Go system in place to accommodate road resurfacing works.

⦿ Thursday 19th February 2026
Traffic Management: Temporary road closure from 9:30am to 6pm between Ballydonagh Lane and R762 (Glen Road) Junction. Diversions via Glen of the Downs-Ballydonagh Road and Killincarrig-Templecarrig Road will be in place for the duration of the works.
