A massive fundraising campaign has begun

Can you dig it…?
ress release from the Will’s Playground committee, issued on
Monday, June 19th 2023…
Award-winning, multiple platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated musician Hozier took time out of his busy schedule to visit St. Francis National School in Newcastle, Wicklow this morning to turn the sod for Will’s Playground.
Will’s Playground is in memory of Will Leeson, a much-loved school pupil and active member of the community, who sadly passed away on the 15th October 2021.

The late, great Will Leeson
Will’s parents Julie and Andrew Leeson say: “We hope to build something as an enduring legacy in memory of Will Leeson. A playground at St Francis school where he enjoyed his time with his friends and is something we know he would have loved. A space where children can laugh and play together the way they should.
“Will was a happy playful child always looking for the entertainment value in every situation and he was never happier than when surrounded by his school friends, clowning around and building a place of collective imagination.
“His friends and the succeeding children at the school will have a place to exercise, play together and enjoy.”
A massive fundraising campaign has begun
to raise the €65,000 needed to build the playground which will benefit generations of children to come.
The committee behind Will’s Playground have some exciting fundraising events planned and would welcome the opportunity to speak with any businesses and organisations to help them reach their goal.
