he annual Summer Stars reading challenge proved to be a major success in Greystones this year.
In total, 848 kids took on the reading challenge set by Greystones Library.
And 40 of those incredibly young bookworms were at the end-of-summer finale in Burnaby Park today, each of them having been lucky enough to win a golden ticket to the party.
Making sure that party went off with a bang, wallop and plenty of guffaws was Reuben, delighting the kids with an outdoor show full of magic, mime and, of course, silly.
Big winners on the day included Erin and Stella Wen in the Outstanding Summer Reads category, Kate Jones (who took home the Spot Prize), and Heritage Trail winners Summer, Dylan and Rosalie Brown, whilst Jamesie Cahill and William Woods lent a very important hand when it came to today’s party.
Congrats to each and every one of the 848 kids who took part, and to Greystones Library for pulling this wonderful event together.
