perfect day…
The sun shone, brightly, Burnaby Park was packed with shiny, happy people, and there was live entertainment to keep us all merrily amused.
At a time when Greystones has grown too big and sprawling to be the tight little community it once was, events like Picnic In The Park are a great
reminder of how important it is to reach out and touch hands with the living.
Especially those who happen to be living right in your town.
On the live entertainment front, the third outing for this annual event boasted music agus dancing (courtesy of Robbie Doyle,
Huegrass, Canadh Le Ceile and The Beating Time Choir), Master Wheatley and his Taekwondo tykes, Joe The Magician, some headspinning displays from the Greystones Baton Twirlers and the notorious Kids Club Ireland keeping the very young ones distracted, a new sensory area, along with old fashioned fun and games for kids young and old.
And early birds would have been able to catch newly-crowned chess champions Kavin Venkatesan and Stephen Stokes returning from their crowning glories in Ennis for their regular Saturday morning sessions.
And the day wouldn’t be complete – and wouldn’t have happened – without a shoutout to all those sponsors who have made Picnic In The Park 2025 possible – Codling Wind Park, The

No mention of the fighting, assaults in the park and on the streets that lasted for nearly 2 hours and the man running around the street with blood pouring from his head, the drinking outside the Dart station and despite many phone calls to the Gardai they didn’t arrive
