t may not seem all that obvious when you look into his curious and mildly penetrating eyes, but Mr Reg might just be the most affectionate dog you could ever hope to meet.

Just ask his buddy, Maria, from Vanity Fur, who just about managed to keep her balance as the doggy kisses just kept on a-comin’.

The occasion was the crowning of this year’s Me & My Pooch winners, Mr Reg and his faithful companion, Conor, having won by very long frisbee throw. And rightly so, given that they do make for a perfect, and devilishly handsome, couple, the kind of dynamic duo who, you can’t help but feel, would be great at solving petty crimes around Greystones.

Such as, you know, which cat keeps taking a dump in the Kennedy sisters’ garden? Or exactly where does Tommaso turf his leftover lasagne every evening…?

Today, Mr Reg and Conor are with the latter’s pop, Colm, there to make sure that both dog and boy are on their best behaviour. Just which of the two gets up to more mischief, it’s hard to tell, because, this afternoon, they’re each as good as gold. 

Except for all that excitable jumping up and down. And licking faces. And drooling all over the place. Mr Reg got pretty hyper at times too.
