slightly different kind of club has come to Greystones with the
establishment of a Death Café gathering every month or so.
Says organiser Ana, “They are gatherings of strangers who meet to talk about death over tea, coffee and cake. Their objective is to encourage people to break the death taboo and contemplate their mortality as a way to connect with what really matters to them and make the most of their lives.”

And just to make the Greystones gatherings that little bit more interesting, there’s also a Death Book Club being set up, with Being Mortal: Illness, Medicine And What Matters In The End by Atul Gawande the first tome chosen. This literary love-in will take place monthly on a Sunday afternoon.
