When we swung by the train station on Wednesday, to see the arrival of this year’s Christmas tree, we were pretty impressed by the fact that, hey, this was the biggest tree Carnew’s award-winning Fairwood had in their vast festive forest.
There was no denying that, yep, it was a beautiful tree. As was the one the lads placed down at the harbour that day too.
It’s just that, for some, they didn’t quite sit right. There was a gut feeling that, hey, this town’s too big for the both of them.
And so it was that, overnight, David Breen and the boys from Theatre Lane took down the fine, upstanding Christmas trees that arrived on Wednesday and replaced both of them with two freshly-sourced Christmas trees that might very well be visible from space.
They. Are. Feckin’. Huge.
So, big thanks to young Breen, perfectionist Ross McParland, and everyone at Theatre Lane for once again making Christmas in Greystones this year bigger, brighter, better and far more pine-scented.
Check out other Christmas treats down Theatre Lane way here, and don’t forget, today is the turning on of the Christmas Lights in Burnaby Park, and the arrival of SANTA! All happening in Burnaby Park at 4pm, people! And a BIG CHEER for mighty Troy Gillett, the God of Lighting & Blunder, who worked all through Friday night to make sure all the town’s lights were ready to shine this evening.
