Jupiter And Saturn Are Alright Tonight

For centuries, it’s been touted as the most likely source for the Star of Bethlehem 2,000 years ago.

Tonight, Jupiter and Saturn will cross paths in the night sky, giving the impression of a double planet.

Which will shine bright. And guide your way to that shebeen up in Kindlestown Wood.

Due to appear just in the southwest sky just above the horizon shortly after sunset – which is at 4.08pm – on Monday, December 21st, the shortest day of the year may also be one of the more disappointing.

Given that the weather is predicted to be pretty darn cloudy all day today.

Although planets crossing paths is not all that rare, tonight’s conjunction is special in that the two plans have not been this close to each other in such darkness for 800 years.

And given that they won’t be this close again in another 400 years, it’s probably worth taking that chance that we’ll get a break in the clouds.

A rare Irish phenomenon that we can all, of course, put down to being a Christmas miracle…
