We live in a time when every Tom, Dick and sunny website can throw up a new award on the oul’ interweb on a daily basic – you only have to look at GG to see that’s true – but, thankfully, there are still some gongs out there that are worth their weight in gold stars.

Established in 1995, Retail Excellence involves over 1,700 stores around the country, and is a not-for-profit organisation designed to encourage and promote the highest of standards in Ireland’s shops.
So, you know, getting into the Top 100 is a very big deal indeed.
With the winning shop to be announced in September, like any good shopper, we sprung a surprise visit on Greystones’ Kilkenny Shop to talk with Nathan – and a shy Amy – about the secrets of their success. Beyond being in the coolest town in the country, of course.
Incidentally, if you’re heading to the Groove festival in Kilruddery, look out for the Kilkenny kids, as they’ll have a Wellness stall set up for the weekend, with lots of groovy treats. Nice!
