Kajagoogoo are BACK!
ith one or two very obvious exceptions, we reckon it would be
fair to say that the St David’s Class of ’81 were a good-looking bunch.
And looking over these happy, mildly bladdered faces, this was also a year when some of the town’s bigger personalities came through.
From rock chick Maria Doyle Kennedy to the fiery Ferns duo, we were surprised to recognise so many Greystonians at this festive reunion. Everybody who used to be somebody in the schoolyard was here.
And then we remembered, hey, we’re that old too. And these days, we could do with a name tag too after a drink, to double-check who we are.
Held, of course, in the hallowed grounds of The Greystones Rugby Club, there was much reminiscing of those heady, hearty schooldays.
And everyone present agreed that the finest teacher they ever had back in St David’s was Stephen Donnelly.
Mainly because Stephen Donnelly was actually at the party.
Also there, as always, was John McGowan, who captured all the fun agus games.
