Today delegates from Ireland and around the world were blocked, detained, abused,

Mark Barry APR24
aving joined 45 other Irish delegates on a 50km walk to Gaza yesterday,
friends and colleagues of Mark Barry suddenly weren’t able to reach the Greystones councillor last night.
Taking part in an international march from Al Arish to the Egyptian border, there had already been trouble at the first border, with Mark being amongst those who were forced to turn back.

Thankfully, at 10pm last night, Mark made the following social media post…
passports taken, held without water food or information, put on buses and dropped randomly alone around Cairo by the authorities, to stop us making a peace march to stand up and stop accepting the genocide and mass murder of the people of Gaza, but we are not to be silenced, we are proud of today.

Remind me again why we pay these people? Whose interests are they supposed to protect? Their march to Gaza is one big virtue signal that does nothing to help the people in the Middle East and even less for those of us who actually pay their wages to run things locally. They are an embarrassment. I don’t remember this coming up when they knocked on my door a few months back looking for my vote.
