Mary Fitzpatrick Has Passed

Proud Mary…

addened to hear that Killincarrig’s Mary Fitzpatrick passed away today…

A woman familiar to many – not only in Killincarrig but Greystones, Delgany and much further afield – Mary was involved in many aspects of daily life around here.

For years, she was the happy face behind the ticket kiosk at The Ormonde cinema.

Later, she worked for coal merchants the O’Neills, both in their original Delgany HQ and later in their Dun Laoghaire premises on the West Pier.

Mary was also a longtime member of The Red Cross in Delgany, a Minister of the Eucharist at her beloved Holy Rosary Church, a great supporter of Greystones Cancer Support, a great organiser in Greystones Active Retirement, a mighty Scout Leader, and a very longtime member of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association in Greystones. 

Mary was also an avid whist player. Which probably helped keep her mind off the drink.

The lady will be missed, especially by her brothers Pat, Joe, John and Michael and her sisters Doreen, Pauline, Margaret and Frances.

May she rest in peace…
