My Greystones: Annie Fitzsimmons

Another rescue from our 2014 geek fire that saw six months of work get lost in space, when we spoke to the cool Annie Fitzsimmons three years ago, we knew even then that this little 5-year-old was something special.

That Annie is now the major shareholder in The Happy Pear whilst also the silent partner behind Mooch, The Tramyard and Google, well, let’s just say we told you so…

Actually, Annie seems to have put her plans for world domination on hold for now, being far too busy with summer, with her rockin’ siblings Lucy, Zoe and Sam, with playing rugby in the GRFC Under 10s, learning ballet with Barbara Donnelly, splashing around with the Greystones Swimming Club, and getting up to all sorts of shenanigans with the Girls’ Brigade.

Oh, and after a long day of being that little bit more wonderful than the day before, Annie likes nothing better than her dad bringing her to Spendloves for one of their very fine ice-creams. If mum could make ice-cream that good, reckons Annie, well, then she’d be pretty much the most perfect mum in the world.

Having just finished second class, Annie’s just launching into one of those long, endless summers that might just be the finest kick that childhood has to offer. And once that’s over, then this 8-year-old’s cunning world domination plan will start kicking in.

Then again, when the summer’s over, Annie’s going to be busy getting ready for her September birthday. And then, Halloween will be just around the corner, and that’s a whole other black kettle of ice creams. Oooh, and then there’s Christmas…

Reckon Annie’s plans to rule the world will just have to wait until next year. Once again…
