f ever there was any doubt about the belief that even the sunniest person has a dark side, Greystones goddess Eilo Vickers is living proof that you can’t have a sunny yin without a blackhearted yang.
This is the woman, after all, who has been bringing joy and happiness to Greystones for far more decades that she’d want us to mention.

bring up three strapping, scrapping and crapping young boys – Cyril, John and Bobby – having Eilo around has always made life in this town seem that little bit sweeter. And from her time working in The La Touche Hotel, and then Tesco, and now Vincent’s, the woman has been a part of pretty much every Greystonian’s life, greeting everyone she meets with a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye, and a juicy bit of gossip up her sleeve.
Which would explain why Eilo Vickers is one of the town’s most popular people.

Sure, how could you not love this woman, who manages to exude sunshine even on the rainiest of days?
And yet, Eilo Vickers isn’t all raindrops on roses and mittens on kittens. The woman has a dark side. A deep, dark, troubled side.
