My Greystones: Jackie Bates

s we continue to salvage those original My Greystones entries of 2014 that were lost in the Great Slacker Site Update Debacle of January 2015, the beauty of it is, we keep coming across some of our very favourite people deep in the GG archives.

Such as the delightful and delovely, and delicious, Jackie Bates.

For those of you not lucky enough to know Ms Bates directly, you will certainly be intimate with her wonderful creations – the most famous being, perhaps, that great big colourful tree on the side of The Happy Pear.

And should you have any doubts about the power of Jackie’s soul love, it’s worth noting that this is the woman who finally tamed and domesticated Dickus Maximus Joyce. Be. The. Jiggers.

So, let’s all take a 100%, recycled leaf out of Jackie’s book and not only be good to one another, and the world around us, but to ourselves. By having just about as much fun in this world as humanly, spiritually and legally possible.
