How could anyone not love Laura Dicker…?
Whatever about her undeniable beauty, and her wonderful way with her three boys, there’s the little matter of Laura having all the decency and goodwill of Mother Teresa along with all the mischief and latenight mayhem of Jennifer Lawrence.
It’s there in a smile that suggests something wild is about to happen. Or has just happened. Or is happening right now, but you just haven’t smelt the burning yet.
It all started innocently enough, the young Laura spending those crucial early years in Greystones when The Shopping Basket was the closest thing Wicklow had to a shopping centre. Having struggled with the dark side all her life – well, her dad is from Bray – Laura found herself living in Nashville when her music-loving parents moved their when she was just eight. Where Laura was forced to listen to Garth Brooks.
Naturally, she rebelled, and when the family moved back to Greystones five years later, all hell and hairgel, tattoos and latenight partying broke loose.
These wild years would serve Laura well in her chosen profession though, when she headed to UCD to study Youth Work, serving her time with Bray Youth Service before moving to Ballyogan, where Laura works today, helping young offenders at Crosscare.
Which may explain why her 18-year-old son, Ross (off to UCD in October), six-year-old Frankie and five-year-old Charlie are such well-behaved and wonderful kids. Mum knows all their tricks. Better than they ever could.
So, Laura’s been there, done that, at least twice, and today knows instinctively the value of living a good life.
Which might just explain why this Greystones beauty’s default setting is Killer Smile…
