reystones municipal district councillors have given the greenlight to two disabled-friendly social housing builds just outside Kilcoole.
Earmarked for families with a disabled child, the local politicians backed the development under the Part 8 planning process.
Council officials said two submissions were received about the project by the adjacent landowner, who raised concerns about the potential removal of trees from the boundary, the location of the boundary and the installation of wastewater infrastructure on a private lane.
Responding to a question from Cllr Tom Fortune, officials said the landowner’s queries had been acknowledged, and that further discussions would take place should the development proceed.
The town councillors were quick to point out that there is no intention of removing trees from the boundary of this cul de sac development, and that the houses will not impinge upon the private lane in question.
The motion by Cllr Gerry Walsh and Cllr Jodie Neary to approve the development was approved.
