No More Free Park & Rides At The Holy Rosary

Well, that’s as good as a parking permit…

ven for the most holy of Greystonians, there’s only so much love thy neighbour and turn the other cheek that one can bear.

Such is the case for The Holy Rosary, as their finance committee have decided to put an end to the church car park being used as the town’s secondary Park & Ride.

And those taking advantage of the church haven’t got a prayer, it seems. Given that they don’t actually go inside the church.

A letter sent out to parishioners explains the reasoning behind the move…

In order to help reduce our existing budget deficit, the Parish Finance Committee is introducing a paid parking system in the Holy Rosary carpark, commencing early March.

This decision has been made to encourage sensible use of the car park and to prevent non-parish ‘park and ride’ parking, which has increasingly limited availability for those attending church and parish activities.

Please be assured that there will be no charges during any church services or religious events, including masses (daily and weekly), funerals, baptisms plus parish meetings and approved community gatherings.

During these times, parking will remain completely free for parishioners and visitors attending church services.

The letter goes on to explain that any revenue generated will naturally be reinvested into the parish, helping to reduce their current deficit, maintain church facilities, etc.

So, if you wanna park at The Holy Rosary, you gotta have faith. Or some readies ready.
