ollowing on from last Saturday’s great big hoedown marking Paddy Holohan officially taking the reigns at SuperValu on Church Road, there was the little matter of sorting prizes from the big day.

Given that, on the day itself, there was a little too much partying – and chaos – to pull all the lucky shoppers till receipts from the hat.

“It was a mad day, but in a very good way,” says Paddy this afternoon. “I had all my family up from the country, as did my wife, and it felt like we were having the whole town around for a very, very big Christmas Day celebration.

“So, we thought it best to wait until we had a little room to breathe before getting around to the prize draw…”

And so it was that, with a little help from Cillian and Cyder, there was a drum roll or two down by the tills this afternoon…

The 10 winners of €25 SuperValu vouchers are Aisling Fox, Sylvia Grey, Heather Fry, Joanne Murphy, K. Keogh, Susan Lowe, Suzanne Courtney, Sheena McCabe, Paul Doherty and Sam Donohoe.

Getting some fine free bottles of booze were Helen O’Donovan, Ann Synott, Philomena Murphy and Monique McGavan. The Ninja Thirsty flask went to John Nawaja, the great big Cadbury hamper went to Fiona French, and, top of the prize list, the Ninja Detect Power Blender went to Mary McGee.

Congrats to each and every one of these lucky feckers. Just know that your jealous friends and neighbours are going to secretly hate you for at least a week.
