The parking meter has arrived. With a vengeance. And since its arrival, this long-standing Greystones garage has paid close to €70,000 in parking for their customers’ cars.
Which is averaging about €1,000 per month.
With appeals to local councillors and one rather fruitless meeting with Wicklow County Council, the Davis Motors’ mechanics are at their wits end. Surely, a designated number of parking spots right outside their business, with a business rate for the year, would make perfect sense for everyone?
Unless, of course, you’re on the receiving end of that €70,000, of course.

Brilliant idea, a Campaign to support a local Business much loved and respected by all who have done business with these courteous, always. smiling Gentlemen, who no doubt inherited these traits from their Fathers, who were brothers and started the Business.
I agree with the lads. Its ridiculous they they have to pay for parking outside their business when they are fixing other peoples cars..
