atest press release from Cllr Mags Crean, issued on Thursday, July 1st 2021…
At this week’s Greystones council meeting, Cllr. Mags Crean called on the council to contact SISPAR seeking clarity on access arrangements for the fishermen.
Cllr. Crean stated, “It is a month since we met with SISPAR to address this issue and there is still no agreement reached. We need to treat this issue with urgency now.
“The fishermen just want a basic arrangement that allow them to get on with their daily job and residents in the area need to see that a resolution can be reached that works in everyone’s interest.”
Crean added that “Greystones community, new and old, will be better served by an integrated harbour, utilised by fishermen, yachtsmen, and so many others who use the marina for leisure activities. No one should be excluded.”
Supported by other councillors, it was agreed that SISPAR would be contacted for clarity on arrangements for the fishermen.
