Ryan Vickers (2,500m bronze), Dermot Whelan (gold) and Ethan Bramhill (silver)

It is with immense pride that we share the news this evening that 1st year GCC student Ethan Bramhill has secured an All Ireland Medal with an amazing 2nd place finish in the National Schools Country Championships held in Tymon Park in Dublin.

Congratulations to Ethan on his excellent performance in the Minor Boys 2,500m race. We at GCC are very proud of his outstanding achievement.

Ethan run a tactically astute and mature race against the very best in the country to claim the silver medal, narrowly losing out on the National title to an athlete from Castletroy College in Limerick. Ethan has further consolidated his position as the best athlete in Leinster in his age group following on from his Leinster Schools title earlier this year.

Speaking from the finish line today, Greystones Community College Deputy Principal and Athletics Coach Ms Maria Lynch was overjoyed at Ethan’s achievement. “It is not only a very special day for the College but for Ethan, his family and his friends and supporters in Greystones AC.

“He is a very talented athlete with an exciting future ahead of him. We are all very proud today.”
