Sea Scouts’ Last Summer Splash

With the great big whinge about the harbour going electric beginning to run out of bluster and blarney, like a balloon having the last piece of air pinched out of it, anyone down among the Greystones Harbour Sea Scouts this afternoon would have seen the new beats the old.

Hands down. And around. And across the back of the head.

This is now a harbour that’s simply fit for purpose. The old harbour wasn’t even fit for a porpoise. Unless he was dying, of course. And was really hellbent on leaving a stinky corpse.

The occasion was the wrapping up of a long, busy summer for the Greystones Harbour Sea Scouts, with races, eh, sponge chases, and other assorted games.

Given the popularity of the sea around here, and the burgeoning population, it’s unsurprising to learn that this little gang of seafarers are a tad overbooked, but you can get your little tyke on the waiting list by emailing [email protected].
