f GG was a religious man, the light show over Greystones last night would have been enough to convince us that, hey, The Rapture is here.

And it’s every bit as cosmic and kaleidoscopic as we could have ever hoped for.

Yep, the aurora borealis put on one hell of a show over Greystones last night, and much of Europe and the northern hemisphere too.

It was up past a lot of Greystonian’s bedtime, but that didn’t stop plenty of night owls catching this purple reign as midnight approached.

It’s a display that lit up our skies back in March 2023 and again in November, but this was undoubtedly something special, with even the geeks lost chasing such thrills left largely speechless last night. Irish Aurora Chasers over on Facebook had the main window of opportunity happening between 11am and 3pm, and shortly after, their page lit up with a thousand and one excited posts.
