ith teams from all over the country as well as England and Wales, it was a busy Greystones Rugby Club on Saturday as the Wooden Spoon Special Needs Tag Rugby came to town.
The enthusiasm on the pitch was matched by the roaring crowd off, as the sun shone bright, and the players were clearly inspired by such a warm reception.
Just who won what, where, how and when, we’re not entirely sure, but, we reckon the winners were the ones in the photos with the trophies. And the dirty big smiles.
You can find out more about the Wooden Spoon gang on their website here. A children’s charity, Wooden Spoon ‘aspires to positively transform the lives of children and young people with disability through the power of rugby‘.
Well done to everyone involved, both behind the scenes and on the pitch, and an extra big thanks to John McGowan for swinging by for these groovy shots.
