Reflections… Eamon Flynn AUG23
t was by chance that we bumped into Eamon Flynn last week, at the
nearest thing Greystones has to Cabana’s these days.
Namely, Aldi, down by Killincarrig – or, if you want to get sorted for cheese and fizz, it’s the snazzy new Lidl up in Blacklion.
We’ve long been fans of Eamon’s loving photographs of Greystones, having first stumbled across them as postcards in Mrs Mooney’s shop.
The man was kind enough to delve into his archives for us seven years ago, and then again in 2019, and once again in 2021.
And would you know it, despite currently in recovery from a major operation, the lad has ventured out with his camera for some more tete-a-tetes with his hometown.
Once again, they’re old school beautiful. No trickery, no fakery, no petrified mutt being thrown into shot. Just perfect moments caught in a perfect light.
David Lean, how are ya?
You can jump back through Eamon’s earlier photographs here, here agus here…
