unny days are almost here again, and that means, hey, we don’t have to walk around like Teletubbies with six layers of clothes.

But putting your winter woollies into storage comes with one hidden danger.

Namely, little fecker moths and their cloth-chomping buddies.

Well, fear not, young Dave down at QClean by the park has some sage advice…

With the longer days and the temperature beginning to rise a lot of people will store their woollens until next winter.

It is a must to clean them before you store them if they’ve been worn. Perfume, aftershave, deodorants, makeup, food and drink will attract little critters like moths who love to have a good feast on wool or cashmere.

Perfume, aftershave etc. and food/drink stains may not be visible on the garment but anything salt or sugar based will attract moths who will pick up the scent and have a nice feast. Moths will chew the fibres and weaken them.

You may not even notice next winter when you go to wear the item as holes may only appear when the item is eventually cleaned and the weakened fibres break.
