Minister Simon Harris has this morning confirmed that the Tiglin Challenge is set to receive further funding for innovative community safety projects.

Under the Government’s Community Safety Innovation Fund, €3 million has been allocated in between a number of projects that enhance and promote community safety.

The Tiglin project is one of the successful projects under the Community Safety Innovation Fund, which uses the proceeds of crime as seized by An Garda Siochana and the Criminal Assets Bureau to help build stronger, safer communities and further invest in communities.

Speaking today, Minister Simon Harris said, “I am delighted to confirm that the Tiglin Challenge is to receive funding under the Government’s Community Safety Innovation Fund.”

“Tiglin has long been an incredible resource for County Wicklow and has done fantastic work towards helping to develop and foster caring communities across the county. I am glad to confirm today that they will be receiving funding to further develop their rehabilitation programmes.”

“This fund uses the proceeds of crime as seized by An Garda Siochana and the Criminal Assets Bureau and is now being re-invested into communities and areas that need our greatest help.”
