Why can’t the traffic wardens issue on the spot fines to dog owners who don’t pick up after their pets have fouled the streets and pavements of Greystones ?
What do we get for our Property tax ? Can the council organise nothing ? Zero tolerance to dog fouling that’s the answer.
?
Because they are traffic wardens not dog wardens, your property tax is for all those lovely people in the big house in Dublin.
They have litter fines in their remit. Or at least they have had before.

Checked this with our local district council office – they don’t actually enforce this fine, or, it seems, intend to. Bizarre, but true. Will go try and talk some sense into ’em, but I’m guessing traffic wardens feel harangued enough without confronting an eejit who deliberately doesn’t clean up after their own dog…
I reckon random days of a sniper with a pellet gun should knock some sense into ’em.
Actually my understanding is that the traffic wardens are also litter wardens and can issue this fine ! May have changed but that’s how it used to be
