childhood idol’s footsteps.
the beautiful game at the turn of the century. And today, through a few twists and tackles, both have swapped football for finance, making the move from playing together for Bray Wanderers all those years ago to working alongside one another at EBS Greystones.
“Basically, my little brother Kevin keeps following me, wherever I go,” laughs Danny. “My only concern is, he always turns out to be better than me – so, I’m a little worried he’s going to do the same when it comes to handling mortgages here in Greystones…”
Kevin comes to EBS Greystones after five years in their Rathfarnham office, having first made his mark in football aged 19 when he played for Wolves FC in the UK. Sadly, an injury saw him having to retire from professional football just three years later, heading home to Ireland and eventually joining Danny at Bray Wanderers.
And now, with the move to Greystones, the O’Connors have become the town’s new Happy Pear. With balls.
“There’s a bond between brothers that’s seen us through many a tough football match,” finishes Kevin. “So, I reckon that team spirit will be a big plus when working together.
