Vagabond Tours Make It A Double

Happy days for the Greystones-based Vagabond Tours, as they pick up not one but two major gongs at the Irish Tourism Awards.

Having only just made their first foray into the south east, this small group tours company came out on top in the Best Ireland’s Ancient East Tourism Initiative in the Under 25,000 visitors category.

Which is going to be pretty hard to squeeze onto the vase inscription, but, hey, what a win.

Add that to Vagabond’s Best Environmental Tourism Innovation award on the night, and sure, Rob, Amy and the rest of the gang are pretty darn chuffed with themselves this morning.

Speaking after the win, founders Rob and Amy Rankin stated, “We are absolutely delighted to have won two awards at the ITIA on Friday, and especially for the categories that we won in. Firstly, to have our Driftwood Ancient East product recognised is fantastic, as it is one of our newer products and this really puts it on the map. In regards to the best Environmental Initiative category award, this was the result of a super team effort and considerable time and investment on behalf of the company. Vagabond has always been firmly rooted in environmentally-friendly tourist and business practices, and this is real recognition in that.

“In fact, this is just the start and we should have more exciting news on the responsible tourism front soon.”
