Wicklow Rocks For Juniper

A bunch of local musicians are coming together to help raise funds for a 6-month-old baby who was recently diagnosed with SCID.

The letters stand for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, a rare genetic disorder that leaves its victims extremely vulnerable to infectious diseases.

With a recently-launched gofundme page soaring past its €30,000 goal – hitting €57,348 as we went to press – it’s clear that Juniper’s parents have a long and hazardous road ahead. And that means they’re going to need a lot more help over the coming months.

With this in mind, a group of local musicians are gathering together this Saturday, February 9th at The Kingfisher Kitchen in Enniskerry for Music For Juniper. The line-up includes Cody Power, Rick Walshe, Two And A Half Men and Lilly Lady.

There is also a fundraiser auction for Juniper and other children affected by SCID at CSP Gym in Bray on Friday, February 8th, at 7pm. More info on Facebook here.
