t’s a spot that many in Killincarrig and well beyond have been keeping as their secret self-indulgence for over twenty years.

And now this much-loved hair salon has been given a whole new lease of life.

And a new name – The Hair Hub.

“I’ve been working here for years,” manager Leagh tells us this afternoon, “and it means that as much as this is a whole new day for the salon, we’re also blessed to have loyal customers who have been coming here year after year after year.

Having been part of the David Martin gang, Leah was more than a little happy to see that she was staying in Adare House, which has always been a big part of Killincarrig.

“There’s such history here,” she smiles, “and it feels great to be even just a small part of it. “

Indeed, this was once the home of the Clarke clan’s grocery shop, where customers were expected to speak as Gaeilge if they actually wanted to be served.

“We don’t have any kind of restrictions at the door today,” laughs Leagh. “We just want to be a little haven for anyone who needs to look and feel good.

“We do your hair, your nails, your eyebrows, all in the one place…”
