One day, when we’re all grown up and feckin’ loaded, we’ll be moving down to one of those penthouse apartments at Marina Village.
For now, we can only dream, and weep – and share some insider pics of these perfectly-placed little palaces.
It was back in June 2018 that we managed to get some first-look artist design shots of Greystones’ swanky new apartments, and now, as they near completion, hey, we got some more.
In a mildly hilarious puff piece in The Irish Times today by one Elizabeth Birdthistle [here’s hoping that’s really the Murtagh lad], the writer waxes lyrical about new residents getting to know the old fishermen in the town, picking up ‘fish as fresh as it can get, and it will be on the pan within the hour‘.
Not sure James from the apartment overlords Glenveagh would necessarily agree, given his recent rant against fishermen docking in the harbour outside the apartment windows – but, hey, we can only dream.
No question The Irish Times journo is on some heavy medication though, as they go on about all the ‘yoga and spandex on the North Beach’. Reckon they must have been seals she witnessed, stretching and yawning.
Anyway, on with the facts and figures. Designed by O’Mahony Pike, Marina Village comprises of 205 apartments and 145 houses (with 16 of the former and 109 of the latter having already sold). A standard one-bedroom apartment will set you back €405,000, a two-bed €510,000, whilst in the penthouse world, a two-bed starts at €885,000 and a corner penthouse will set you back a cool €2.5million.
The good news is, each unit comes with a parking space. The penthouse even has two, should you also be able to afford a partner.
For de locals, it’ll just be great to see the place finally finished. So we can start getting used to the harbour going fully electric. You can find out more right about here.
