You think the traffic through Blacklion is bad for the school run…?
Well, how about halving the road width, just to add to the fun?
That’s what it’s like over at St. Laurence’s school, with a seemingly endless stream of cars to and from the school trying to squeeze past early morning delivery trucks and building site lorries. Chapel Rd wasn’t built for such traffic, being closer in size to a jumped-up lane.
It’s an issue that Jennifer Whitmore and Stephen Donnelly have been campaigning to have sorted for quite some time now, and you can help. By simply sending an email.
No money, no fuss, no sweat – no unnecessary daily traffic jams.
Take it away, young Whitmore…
Please help Stephen Donnelly and I to convince the Minister for Transport and NTA to fund safety measures on Chapel Road in Delgany (near St. Laurences NS). We all know that it is not safe for our children to walk that road to school – now we need to tell the Minister.
Please email him with your personal experience of Chapel Road or send in a picture. The more emails he gets, the louder our voice. We need the local community, and those that really understand how dangerous the road is, to email the Minister and the Chief Executive of the NTA and to tell them. A bullet point with a personal story, or a photo will do – its doesn’t have to be very formal. But something that describes your experience of the road.
Send your email to:
- paschal.donohoe@oireachtas.ie (Minister for Transport, Paschal Donohoe);
- anne.graham@nationaltransport.ie (CEO National Transport Authority); and
- ‘cc it to Stephen.Donnelly@Oireachtas.ie and Whitmore.Jennifer@gmail.com
We believe that if enough people email that this will put the necessary pressure on the Minister to fund safety works on the Chapel Road.
